Chamber to celebrate on the Red Carpet 12/10

With Thanksgiving over, there is still much to be thankful for when it comes to business on the Main Line. Although doing business in any economy has its challenges, the relatively low unemployment rate enjoyed in Delaware, Chester and Montgomery counties, the continued availability of low-interest funds and cheaper gas prices all bode well for business.

Yet providing the right products or services and marketing them effectively continues to be distinguishing factors among chamber businesses. Fortunately, we hear about successes every day and the Chamber is helping many companies with their marketing needs.

We will be celebrating the gifts of time and money that companies provide to their communities with The Main Line Gives Back Awards, which are given out as part of the Red Carpet Dinner set for Dec. 10 at Drexelbrook Corporate Events Center in Drexel Hill. The awardees will be Allied Wire & Cable, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach Realtors, Citizens Bank of PA, Penn Liberty Bank, Dunleavy & Associates and Scargill/McClurken Insurance Agency. The United Way Regional Impact Award will go to PECO, whose employees provide strong annual support to the regional social services provider and funder.

The dinner will feature remarks by Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter and the Upper Darby Performing Arts Center’s outstanding show choir, the Shooting Stars. It promises to be an entertaining and thought-provoking evening.

At the Chamber of Commerce, we appreciate our members and volunteers, led by our Board of Directors and committees.

The idea of a Chamber of Commerce is simple – together a group of organizations combine efforts to have greater influence on issues such as public policy, talent management and leadership development. We look forward to celebrating our collective impact on Dec. 10.
