Listening and responding to you, our members

A strong membership organization interacts regularly with its members to know what those members need and want. One tried and true example of this interaction is a membership survey. I want to personally thank everyone who took the time to fill out our recent survey, which gave vital feedback that will help us to serve all our members better.

First, our members love many of our events and programs: The Society of Professional Women, Make More Save More Series and Business Card Exchanges all ranked high on the list of valued offerings that the Chamber provides. It’s clear that everything we do is important to some within our membership.

We hear that our focus on leadership and talent development, which is increasingly differentiating our organization, is important to our companies.           But we also heard that the top reason companies become members is to tap into business-building opportunities. We will answer that call in 2015 with our new Members First communications and business-building strategy.

The new campaign will encourage our members to see if they can do business with other “Members First” before turning to others who don’t share their affiliation. We also will offer a series of new, free education and networking events that are available only to members and a few special guests.

These events will provide a new on-boarding process for new members to the Chamber. They will be available to pull in members who have been less active in recent years, assuming they want to engage with us. While we appreciate the countless long-time members who support our organization to support the business community they participate in, and we appreciate that sentiment greatly, most members are looking for more.

Please stay tuned as we roll out the details of Members First in the months to come.
