Job Description:

OVERVIEW

Our international manufacturing client located in Paoli, PA is seeking a Pricing Analyst to join their Team. Our client is a leading worldwide producer of abrasives, building materials, high-performance plastics and building products.  The company is also a major distributor of building materials in Europe and one of the top 100 industrial companies in the world. This position will require a combination of technical accounting, pricing analysis, financial analysis and ad-hoc reporting. Additionally, this role is responsible for analyzing the current pricing results against the budget and prior year; and explains the findings to Executive Management.

DUTIES

  • Pricing analysis, support and reporting
  • Evaluate pricing strategy and the effects of price changes on sales volume and profitability. 
  • Track and analyze pricing discounts & rebates
  • Build projections of decision impact for various rebate programs and present to management to aid in the decisions on future rebate program structures.
  • Provide management information to make informed decisions on current and future pricing strategy. 
  • Guide the future direction of pricing through the analysis of customer and product profitability
  • Support the business through ad hoc analysis of pricing, cost, margin & special projects
  • Analyze customer, product, region, and state profitability to help management understand the bottom line impact of pricing movement
  • Support the decision making process through clear and concise analysis while improving efficiencies in processing data. 
  • Compare strategy across Company lines of business
  • Analyze all business lines for best practices for pricing models and customer analysis. 
  • Develop and implement enhancements to data warehouse to ensure all elements are captured for customer analysis
  • Lead in establishing critical pricing analysis as part of our SAP implementation. 
  • Reporting on Price/Volume/Mix analysis (PVM) by Line of Business (LOB), cash discount analysis, other various pricing analysis for internal management,
  • Develop Pricing charts and data for external department, and analysis for monthly reporting. 
  • Sales discount program accounting and valuations, track, accounting, reconciliation and valuations of volume rebates, 
  • Meet with management on a regular basis to discuss the results of valuations. 
  • Additional responsibilities/projects - Other responsibilities include, but not limited to, support and auditing of cost reduction reporting, capital spending tracking support, Qlikview implementation management in our SAP implementation and transition, and other ad-hoc analysis and cost back up work.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors Degree required. 
  • Masters/advanced degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years or related work experience preferably in the following areas: financial/business analysis, pricing analysis/strategy, process improvement (6 Sigma or other), financial/business analysis
  • Knowledge of pricing principles, strategy and techniques
  • Specific knowledge in the following GL/Analysis systems; SAP, Business Warehouse, and Stratum
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to identify and implement price management/optimization strategies for the sales team.
  • High degree of analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Analytical skills combined with business acumen are critical.
  • Knowledge of Financial analysis tools (Business case development, ROI, EBIT, P&L).
  • Confidentiality due to sensitive nature of business information
  • Superior data management and modeling skills
  • Performing break even and contribution margin studies
  • Modeling cost/volume/profit relationships
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a willingness to support and challenge team members
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability multi-task and work on several projects at a time
  • Detail oriented and deadline sensitive
  • Ability to communicate in a timely critical and accurate way with all levels including executives
  • Construction products experience preferable
