DVRPC study finds Phila. region to face transportation funding shortfall

A long-range plan by the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission revealed that the Philadelphia region will be short $68 billion in transportation funding, which includes the improvement of highways, bridges, public transportation and airports between now and 2040. Paul Nussbaum of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports the deficit will be more significant in Pennsylvania due to its larger and older transportation system and lower taxes.
