WAYNE, PA. – October 10, 2013 – The 2013 Main Line Chamber Red Carpet Dinner will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013 at Drexelbrook Corporate Events Center in Drexel Hill. The Red Carpet Dinner is the premier event for the Chamber and is used as a client appreciation as well as entertainment event. This year’s featured speaker will be Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett.

Before becoming Governor in 2011, Corbett served as Pennsylvania’s Attorney General, where his accomplishments brought him national recognition. Most notable are his efforts to protect our children from internet predators, our seniors from fraud and abuse and our communities from gangs and the violence associated with illegal drugs.

Corbett served his country as a member of the Pennsylvania National Guard 28th Infantry Division from 1971 until 1984, rising from private to captain. He received his undergraduate degree from Lebanon Valley College in Annville and taught civics and history in Pine Grove Area High School in Schuylkill County. In 1975, he received his law degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas.

Governor Corbett and his wife Susan currently reside at the Governor’s Residence in Harrisburg, but live permanently in Shaler Township, near Pittsburgh, in the home where he grew up.

The event will also feature the 3rd Annual Main Line Gives Back Awards, which are designed to draw attention to chamber-member companies that are doing good work in the region. The awards take into consideration cash donations, employee-volunteer time and free services provided by companies.

In the past, The Main Line Chamber of Commerce’s Red Carpet Dinner event has featured notable speakers, many from Washington, such as the Honorable Madeleine Albright, the first woman to become United States Secretary of State; political polar opposites James Carville and Mary Matalin; George Stefanopolous, the former Senior Advisor to President Clinton and ABC News anchor; the 20th Secretary of Defense, William Cohen; and Ben Stein, long-time entertainment personality, author and attorney.
