AVE Rallies for Hunger Action Month

Published Tuesday, November 10, 2015 11:00 am

AVE announced its partnership with Move For Hunger in September in honor of Hunger Action Month.

To kickoff the new partnership and to recognize Hunger Action Month, 18 AVE team members competed in Move For Hunger’s 2nd Annual Jersey Shore Truck Pull. Teams pulled a 26-foot truck, tug-of-war style, in three heats to raise money to fight hunger.

AVE also hosted Resident Food Drive Parties at each of its six communities in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, offering residents an evening of good fun for a good cause. Team members organized events featuring food trucks, live entertainment, and retailers, asking residents to donate non-perishable food items to be delivered to food banks in their communities.

Just shy of 1,000 pounds were donated to the Salvation Army of West Chester, PA and Community FoodBank of New Jersey, which will feed more than 830 people. Supplies and transportation were generously donated by Crown Relocations – NY and Two Men and A Truck of Greater Philadelphia. To read more about AVE click here
