Committees

Committees are an important part of the Main Line Chamber of Commerce. Committee participation is a primary way that Chamber members contribute their knowledge and expertise to the success of the organization. Each committee is comprised of Chamber members who are dedicated to improving the Chamber and its program of work. Ambassadors Committee

This committee is responsible for welcoming new members into the Main Line Chamber. This includes personal delivery of member welcome packets and one-on-one meetings with new members. Their role is one of fostering active involvement, serving as ambassadors at Chamber events, and representing the organization at ribbon-cutting ceremonies and local community events.

Business Education Committee

This committee considers key educational matters, which are, or should be, of interest to the business sector. The composition is mixed between educators and business people. Seminars and workshops may, from time to time, be considered in order to highlight a timely matter for membership and the community at large.

Government Affairs Committee

The mission of the Government Affairs Committee is to effect and shape public policy, governmental action and legislation on local, state, and federal issues of concern to the Chamber's membership.

Leadership Main Line Committee

Leadership Main Line -- Building Leaders for a Dynamic Community

Leadership Main Line believes that the quality of life in a community depends upon the quality of local leadership. The program provides diverse learning experiences to inspire individuals to make a difference in the community.

Main Line Go Green Committee

Going Green is just good business.

The purpose of the Main Line Green Committee is to represent the Chamber in the community and promote the implementation of our green initiative. As such we are a leading green resource and portal for Main Line businesses to reach out to for data and information, education opportunities, legislative updates and more. If we are to have sustainable cities and towns, we need to recognize that the time to implement green thinking is now.

Member Value Committee

This committee is chartered with a weighty agenda to find ongoing ways to increase the value of programs, services and benefits for the membership. The ideal candidate for this committee would be someone who enjoys relationship building, group interaction, and being thoughtful.

The mission of the Technology Committee is to identify and address current key technology issues deemed to be relevant to The Main Line Chamber's membership and to facilitate the delivery of appropriate education and information to the members.

The Technology committee will oversee the further development of the Chamber's website as a significant resource center for members, prospective members, and the community.

Board and Officer Committees

 

Board Development Committee

Not less than five (5) members appointed by the Chairman or by the Board. This committee is responsible for nominating at least as many candidates as there are vacancies on the Board. The Board Development Committee is also responsible for Chairman Succession, Board Member Orientation, Committee Assignment, Officer Succession, By-law Review, Number of Board Members, and Requirements of Board Members.

Executive Committee

This committee is comprised of the officers of the Chamber and other members as designated by the Chairman. It shall act for and on behalf of the Board when the Board is not in session. The Executive Committee is responsible for reviewing the performance and establishing the compensation of the President from time to time.

Finance Committee

Composition is determined by the Board. The Finance Committee shall have general responsibilities for supervising the financial affairs of the Chamber and shall recommend annual operating budgets, capital budgets, and any budget changes for approval by the Board.
