Recovery Resources: Comcast grant program, PPP guidance and free mask distributions

Comcast launches pandemic recovery initiative for small businesses
Comcast has launched a three-year initiative called Comcast RISE (representation, investment strength and empowerment) to help small businesses recover from the novel coronavirus pandemic. In the initial wave, black small business owners can apply for marketing and technology support and equipment to help them jumpstart and sustain their operations. The next wave will target BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color) small business owners. All small businesses can sign up for free marketing insights and resources. In the coming months, Comcast will be awarding grants of up to $10,000 for U.S.-based small and diverse businesses that are three to five years old.

Senate set to vote on stimulus bill with little chance of becoming law
Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said the Senate will vote next week on a $500 billion COVID-19 relief package, but it appears to be too small for Democrats and President Trump, according to Roll Call. Shortly after McConnell announced the vote, the president tweeted, “STIMULUS! Go big or go home!!!” The Trump administration last week proposed a $1.8 trillion relief package that Senate Republicans said was too large and Democrats in the House of Representatives said was too small. Earlier this month, in a move that sheds light on stimulus check negotiations, the House passed a $2.2 trillion relief bill that was a revised version of a bill it passed in May.
