Main Line Region

Welcome to a Chamber and region on the rise

The Main Line has a lot to offer the people who live, work and play in this region – great quality of life, affluence, a vibrant business community and a growing population that’s projected to continue to rise.

clientuploads/images/businessResources/TrainStationMainLine.jpgIt’s a place of good schools, strong communities, dedicated nonprofits and a network of volunteers who give back to help make the region stronger. Named for the Main Line of the Pennsylvania Railroad, the region boasts a public transportation infrastructure that many suburban areas across the nation would envy.

The Main Line Chamber of Commerce draws its members primarily from three counties –  Montgomery, Delaware and Chester. The Chamber’s 1,100 member companies aren’t all along the Route 30 corridor that parallels the Main Line railroad. Companies from King of Prussia, which is home of the largest mall in the nation, and from offices in Blue Bell and Conshohocken, as well as Philadelphia and beyond, come together to form a diverse economic ecosystem.

Access to shopping, along with a cultural vibrancy that includes live arts and access to biking, hiking and riverside nature trails mean residents can easily pursue a wide variety of interests. Close proximity to culturally rich Philadelphia and easy access to the political capital of Washington, D.C., and the financial capital of New York all contribute to high quality of life.

Prominent employment sectors include an abundance of higher education and health care jobs, which together make up an “eds and meds” sector that is the envy of many regions.

As part of the fabric of this region since 1921, The Main Line Chamber of Commerce has played a lynchpin role in helping to strengthen the business community as a convener, an advocate on behalf of business interests and, through The Main Line Chamber Foundation, a source of funding that invests in some of the people who make the region what it is.

The Main Line Chamber invites you to explore the region. Whether a lifelong resident or someone considering a move to the Main Line, you’re bound to learn something about this historic area and its alluring quality of life.
