Main Line Run
The annual 5k Main Line Run/1.5 mile Walk is held each September and is the single biggest source of funds for The Main Line Chamber Foundation, which provides college scholarships to volunteer firefighters and emergency medical technicians.
Runners start at The Main Line Chamber of Commerce office and enjoy a challenging course down Route 30 and through the residential neighborhoods of Wayne. An awards ceremony with a photo opp takes place following the race. Cash prizes are awarded to the top three male and top three female finishers in each age division and a trophy is awarded to the top three teams.
The Main Line Run, held rain or shine, also offers a Business and Fitness Expo. Runners and community members have an opportunity to talk with local fitness center staff and wellness professionals, as well as meet some of the sponsors.
The scholarship program is part of a special project initiated by the Foundation to increase public awareness of the acute need to support, retain and recognize volunteer firefighters and EMTs on the Main Line. This year, the Foundation awarded $50,000 in scholarships.
