Job Description:
Sharon Bank is currently seeking a Commercial Credit Analyst. This is a full-time, in-office position. The Commercial Credit Analyst is responsible for performing the underwriting functions associated with commercial and real estate credits. The analyst will prepare credit memos in conjunction with Commercial Relationship Managers to be submitted to the appropriate lending authority for approval and will provide support for the presentation of commercial credits to Management and Executive Loan Committees for approval.
The candidate must be able to use Excel spreadsheets to analyze business and personal financial statements, business and personal tax returns, and credit reports. The candidate must also be able to use Microsoft Word to prepare credit request cover sheets and memos. The Commercial Credit Analyst will also provide support to the Relationship Managers for ongoing portfolio management activities.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in finance or accounting or equivalent work experience is required.
- A background in finance and accounting providing a basis for commercial loan underwriting and analysis of client financial statements and tax returns as well as an understanding of data in both personal and business bureaus is required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
- Must have strong Microsoft Office skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Must have some general business and banking background.
- Must have strong analytical skills.
- Must be proactive, persistent, and focused on finding ways to accommodate our customers while maintaining credit quality as dictated by bank policy.
- Must be able to work independently while also interacting with senior management and other departments in the Bank.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of commercial credit experience including a background of reviewing personal and commercial financial statements is preferred but not essential.
- Experience in Commercial Real Estate financing preferred but not essential.
