Responsibilities

At Brinker Simpson, you will have the opportunity to provide value-added business advisory services to clients and support our audit and tax clients' valuation needs. This opportunity offers a mixture of business valuations, analysis of financial statements, industry research, and offers a potential management opportunity at one of the regions leading CPA firms. This position will serve as a key member of the Business Advisory team and reports to the Partner leading the group, with high visibility to all leadership team members.

  • Lead and grow our advisory business.
  • Ability to write Business Valuation reports.
  • Identify target clients; build relationships; conduct business meetings; identify and explore needs, present solutions, negotiate terms, and secure profitable advisory projects.
  • Provide high-quality services to sophisticated entrepreneurial business and their owners.
  • Understand valuation drivers and provide guidance to support growing companies.
  • Devise and implement strategies and advise clients regarding the impact of those strategies.
  • Train and develop other members of the advisory team.

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will have three to five years of experience in preparing business valuations.
  • Experience sourcing, managing, and executing business valuations;
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including financial modeling and valuation.
  • Detail-oriented, well-organized, and enjoys solving complex problems.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with others cross-functionally and at all levels of the organization.
  • A self-starter with the ability to exercise independent judgment and critical thinking.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent projects.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships within the organization and with outside service providers and referral sources; and
  • Must either have or be close to obtaining a CVA, ABV, or similar valuation-related credential.
  • Experience writing business valuation reports for both tax purposes and purchase price allocation purposes.
  • Experience implementing and overseeing business valuation processes.
  • Business Development acumen required, experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and team-building skills.
