Wayne Art Center Presents Three Exciting Winter Exhibitions
The weather outside may be frightful, but Wayne Art Center offers a warm reprieve to come and view their three newest exhibitions: Expressions of Radnor in the Davenport Gallery, Realistic Impressions in Clay—Jennifer Frudakis-Petry, Sculptor and Students in the Ethel Sergeant Clark Smith Gallery, and From Ordinary to Extraordinary, artwork by students from the Timothy School in Berwyn. The exhibitions will be on display from February 12 through March 9 with a reception and awards ceremony on Sunday, February 25 from 3-5 pm that is free and open to the public.
Expressions of Radnor was established in 2001 as part of Radnor Township’s centennial celebration. Now in its 23rd year, this much-anticipated exhibition showcases the talent of Radnor Township residents through a variety of mediums, including painting, photography, fiber, sculpture, ceramics, stained glass and mixed media works. This year’s exhibition has been juried by Claire Haik, a painter and frequent Wayne Art Center teacher. She will present over $500 in awards that have been generously sponsored by local Wayne businesses.
Also on view is Realistic Impressions in Clay—Jennifer Frudakis-Petry, Sculpture and Students.
The exhibit features work by Frudakis-Petry as well as recent work created by her Wayne Art Center students. Frudakis-Petry has won numerous awards and recently completed several life-sized monuments including World Champion Woman Kickboxer Freida “The Cheetah” Gibbs. Her popular classes offer opportunities for adult students working at all levels to engage in this exciting tactile medium.
The final exhibition is From Ordinary to Extraordinary which highlights artwork projects by the Timothy School students. Wayne Art Center is proud to collaborate with the Timothy School to provide studio art classes tailored to students who have autism and pervasive developmental disorder.
