"Urinetown" Runs at Villanova Theatre From April 16-26

Published Tuesday, April 14, 2026 8:00 am

With music by Mark Hollman, book by Greg Kotis and lyrics by Hollman and Kotis, Urinetown centers on a drought-stricken dystopian city where private toilets are outlawed and the privilege to pee comes with a fee, a corporate tyrant controls the public amenities, squeezing every penny from society's most basic need. But when a humble custodian at Public Facility #9 decides he's held it in long enough, he leads a revolution to free the citizens from paying to pee! A brilliant three-time Tony Award-winning musical that proves even the most unlikely premise can be flushed with success. It’s a privilege to pee—but an even greater privilege to see!

Urinetown will run from April 16th to April 26th in the Topper Theatre at Villanova’s John and Joan Mullen Center for the Performing Arts (at Lancaster and Ithan Avenues) on Thursdays-Saturdays at 8PM and Sundays at 2PM. Tickets run $26-$30 with discounts available for students, seniors, MA in Theatre alumni and groups. Tickets may be purchased by visiting www.villanovatheatre.org or emailing [email protected] or by calling the box office at 610.519.7474.”
