Frequently Asked Questions:
What is a Main Line Chamber Young Professional (MLC-YP)?
MLC-YPs are professional young adults between the ages of 21-40.
What type of job do I have to have to be included?
Young professionals come in all shapes, sizes, nationalities, backgrounds, industries, and educational experience. Accountants, artists, bankers, engineers, non-profit workers, graduate students, small business owners and everyone in between is welcome in MLC-YP.
Is this another networking, dating, or social club?
The MLC-YP program is designed to connect, empower, and engage the local young talented workforce. Our goal is to make a significant difference in the professional development of our members and to make a positive impact in our community. At our events, YPs have opportunities to meet other YPs and community leaders to build connections and relationships, although not necessarily sales. Yes – there will be networking, fun and socializing, too.
Do I have to be a Main Line Chamber member to join MLC-YP?
Membership in MLC-YP is open to all young professionals. MLC-YP is a program of The Main Line Chamber of Commerce and is designed to encourage and support the growth and development of our area’s young, talented workforce. A Main Line Chamber membership is NOT required to attend MLC-YP events but a non-member fee may be applied to non-Chamber MLC-YP members attending other Chamber programs and events.
Filling a MLC-YP leadership role such as a committee volunteer, and sponsoring an event and/or participating as a guest speaker, requires a membership in The Main Line Chamber of Commerce.
How do I become a member of MLC-YP?
Email Manager of Events & Communications Stacey Rymal by clicking here to be added to the email distribution list. Once you join the email list, you are a member of MLC-YP. You will begin receiving news and information relating to events and programs and everything you need to know about MLC-YP!
Does membership cost anything?
No. Membership is free. Nominal fees are charged for events.
How can I get involved in MLC-YP?
MLC-YP offers volunteer and committee level involvement on a regular basis. See below for contact information.
How did MLC-YP get started?
The need for this type of program was discovered by staff and volunteers of The Main Line Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber’s Member Value Committee investigated the opportunities, formed a committee to represent the voice of YPs in our service area, and the rest is history.
